Scholarships at Winona State University (WSU) provide free money for college, easing the financial burden for students of all backgrounds. Whether based on financial need, academic achievement, talent, or other factors, WSU offers a variety of scholarships.
1. First-Year Student Scholarships:
- Resident Tuition Scholarship:
- Award: Resident Tuition Rate
- Eligibility: Automatically considered with WSU application
- Renewable with a 2.5 GPA
- Academic Achievement Scholarships:
- Award: $3,500 per academic year
- Eligibility: 4.0 cumulative high school GPA
- Renewable with a 3.5 GPA
- Presidential Honor Scholarships:
- Award: $1,000-$2,500 per academic year
- Eligibility: Based on GPA (domestic students) or test scores (international students)

First-Year Student Scholarships at WSU
Resident Tuition Scholarship
- Award Amount: Resident Tuition Rate
- Starting Fall 2022, pay the Minnesota resident (in-state) tuition rate instead of the non-resident (out-of-state) rate.
- Equivalent to a $6,700 scholarship.
Qualifications:
- Be a resident of another U.S. state.
- Automatically considered with your WSU application.
- Renewable with a 2.5 GPA at WSU.
1. Academic Achievement Scholarships
- Award Amount: $3,500 per academic year
- Awarded based on a 4.0 cumulative high school GPA.
Qualifications:
- Automatically considered with your WSU application.
- Renewable for sophomore, junior, and senior years with a 3.5 GPA at WSU.
2. Presidential Honor Scholarships
- Award Amount: $1,000-$2,500 per academic year

- Based on GPA (4.0 scale)

3. WSU Foundation Scholarships
